Burnley FC in the Community has formed a new alliance with the local booking service ClassHoppa to help families sign up for sports and other activities more easily. This joint effort, which began on November 5, seeks to encourage more people in Burnley and East Lancashire to take part by offering a simple way to book using a phone.

ClassHoppa was created by sisters Siobhan Fox and Olivia Cooley from Cliviger, who themselves attended events at Burnley Football Club as children. The service has already arranged many thousands of activity bookings for numerous local families. "Helping people discover and book Burnley FC in the Community's sessions is a real full-circle moment," Siobhan Fox said.

The main aim is to address low levels of exercise in the region. Statistics indicate that a higher portion of adults in Burnley do not get enough physical activity compared to the average for England. The partnership will make it simpler to register for the charity's various programmes, such as holiday clubs for children, walking sports for adults, and development paths for talented players.

Last year, Burnley FC in the Community ran a very large number of sessions and assisted tens of thousands of individuals. Amelia Stalton-Tracey, who coordinates marketing and events for the charity, helped introduce the new collaboration with ClassHoppa.

This community project starts as the football club's first team works to keep its local links strong during a tough season. The team's next match is an away game against Cardiff on November 7.

The new partnership commenced with the mobile booking service becoming active for sessions starting November 5. ClassHoppa will handle bookings for all of the community charity's activity schemes. The platform is intended to be a central place for families, bringing together details and making it easier to find and join the charity's different activities.
