British Transport Police have released images of seven youths wanted in connection with violent disorder at Burnley Manchester Road railway station. The incident followed Burnley's match against Notts County on Saturday, August 8, beginning as a verbal confrontation between fans walking to the station.
The confrontation escalated once the groups reached the platform, where several fights broke out in front of other members of the public. Station staff intervened in an attempt to separate the groups before the situation ended with those involved fleeing upon hearing police sirens.
Officers believe the youths pictured could have information that may assist their enquiries into the alleged violent disorder. Anyone with information is urged to text British Transport Police, quoting reference 532 of August 8. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
The incident comes as Burnley, currently 24th in the Championship with just four points from eight games, prepare for their next fixture away to Watford.
